This session will look at strategies that many schools are already familiar with in AfL in core subjects and focus on how they can have significant effects in the raising of standards in RE.

Currently Assessment for learning (AfL) is high profile, particularly in the areas of literacy and numeracy in the primary school. However these are not the only areas of the curriculum that benefice from effective assessment strategies being in place.
In RE in Northamptonshire and Rutland, level descriptions have been statutory since 1999, yet HMI reports reveal that assessment is still the weakest area in this subject across the whole country.

The session is free to schools in the diocesan SLA, schools not within the SLA are welcome to book at a cost of £50 per delegate. Please ring the education office for further details, thank you.
